Illegal firearm manufacturing in Alberta Canada

Police in Edmonton, Alberta seized a number of homemade and modified firearms from a property in St. Albert, among them a homemade derringer, MAC-10 submachine gun and revolving pepperbox appearing to be from the Practical Scrap Metal Small Arms series alongside a STEN and modified SKS rifle. Two men were arrested as part of an investigation into illegal firearm manufacturing.

Homemade shotguns seized (Brazil)

Shotguns made by a 29 year old man who was arrested while trying to sell one of the weapons at a bus station in the Central Region of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Each appears to be an improvement over the traditional improvised design with the addition of a ‘trigger’ type safety / barrel lock leaver.

Submachine gun chambered for 9×18 with a rifled barrel containing six left-hand grooves. The overall length with folded shoulder rest is 304 mm. It is based around and operates similar to a self-loading pistol and may have been the result of studying the mechanism of a Makarov PM.

The weapons above were used in any attack which resulted in deaths of two police officers in Odessa carried out by Valentin Doroshenko, a locally known pro-Russian activist who constructed the weapons above along with ammunition. Despite their Heath Robinsonesque looks they none the less proved lethal and effective.

Nigerian craft-made ‘AK47s’

Pictured are locally made submachine guns seized by authorities in Nigeria.  These are made to appear visually similar to the namesake rifle and include a copy of the under-folding type stock but are simple pistol caliber blow back weapons. These have recently shown up in multiple instances among arms captured from cattle rustlers and bandits.
