A uniquely configured 9mm SMG with silencer seized in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil on Sunday. It appears to be an evolution of a URU type design reconfigured into a bullpup rifle format with an extra long barrel and receiver integrated stock.
“The event took place this afternoon, 21/02/2018, Wednesday, around 12:50 pm, at Av. Antônio Ferreira de Jesus, Novo Horizonte district, Macapá-AP municipality. After receiving anonymous reports about a homemade weapons workshop, the team traveled to a home at the address mentioned. At the scene, the military found a 24-year-old man handling a piece of weaponry. He admitted that he made the objects. During the search they were found two homemade weapons, one similar to shotgun and another to revolver. Two ammunition of calibers 20 and 38 and notebooks with designs of firearms were also seized.“
A conventional .38spl revolver alongside an improvised 2-shot alternative. On this example the rectangular barrel is swung to the side to load and is fired by flicking closed two spring loaded strikers with the thumb. Bog simple but effective.
