Halle synagogue attacker’s homemade submachine gun

A familiar DIY submachine gun design used by the perpetrator of the attack on a synagogue in the Germany city of Halle earlier today. An improvised ‘slam-fire’ pipe shotgun also appeared to have been used.

Local craft made firearms (Mindanao, Philippines)

Typical locally made firearms from Mindanao in the southern Philippines. Magazine fed bolt action combat shotguns as well as revolvers chambered in 5.56 have long been produced by local gunsmiths and are still seen turning up today.

The Three Horsemen

A ‘handful’ of break action 12 gauge shotgun pistols produced locally by illegal gunsmiths in Thailand. Now seldom seen where originally produced in the Philippines, these remain a very popular weapon in Thailand and are traded quite openly.

B.A.M SMG

A customized homemade submachine gun, decked out with AR furniture and finished in a Choc Chip paint job which was seized by police in the Brazilian municipality of Espirito Santo. It was apprehended after traffickers from the neighborhoods of Vila Velha and Cariacica fled who were planning to attack a rival group in the area. ‘B.A.M’ is likely the name of the gang it belonged to.

Homemade Welrod copy seized by police in Japan

A handmade integrally suppressed bolt action pistol which appears heavily based on the British Welrod. It appears to make use of a factory made magazine and appears to be chambered for .380 ACP. Seized by Aichi / Gifu prefectural police in October 2007.

Loyalist made .45 submachine gun

A .45 homemade submachine gun made by Ulster loyalist paramilitaries held in a Greater Manchester police armoury. It appears to use an M3 Grease Gun magazine.
